Abstudy
The Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Study Scheme. If you are an Indigenous secondary or tertiary student, ABSTUDY may be able to help you stay at school or go on to further studies. It consists of a fortnightly living allowance as well as additional components to help with the costs associated with attending school.

Additional Support for Students with Disabilities Programme
A Department of Education, Science and Training programme which provides additional funds to universities to assist students with disabilities who have high cost support needs.


Assistance for Isolated Children Scheme
Helps if your family has a primary, secondary or under 16 year old tertiary student who cannot go to an appropriate government school because you live too far away. An appropriate school is a government school offering the student's level of study or, if the student has special health-related or educational needs, one providing the facilities, programs, and/or environment needed.


Austudy Payment
Austudy payment provides financial help if you are aged 25 years or more and studying full-time.

dEadly mOb Career Mentoring Programme
Based at the Gap Youth Centre in Alice Springs, dEadly mOb is all about creating online opportunities for Indigenous young people anywhere in Australia. It aims to help young people skill up to participate in community development using Information and Communications Technology.
It has embedded resources like the Career Mentoring Programme's tools, that can be used to help young people get connected to career, employment and life opportunities wherever they are.


Disabled New Apprentice Wage Support (DNAWS)
If you have a disability that would prevent you from starting a New Apprenticeship because you are mobility restricted or need equipment enhancements to enable you to undertake on-the-job-training, then the Disabled New Apprentice Wage Support (DNAWS) programme may be for you.

DNAWS provides assistance for New Apprentices with a disability in 3 ways :

• Disabled New Apprentice Wage Support (paid to employer)
• Assistance for Tutorial and Mentor Services (up to $5500 pa)
• Workplace Modifications (up to $5000)


Disability Support Pension
The Disability Support Pension is a payment for people whose physical, intellectual or psychiatric impairment prevents them from working, or for people who are permanently blind.


Indigenous Education Direct Assistance Programme (IEDA)
A Department of Education, Science and Training prgramme
incorporating three elements :

  • Aboriginal Student Support and Parent Awareness (ASSPA)
    Programme
  • Aboriginal Tutorial Assistance Scheme (ATAS)
  • Vocational and Educational Guidance for Aboriginals Scheme (VEGAS)


Jobs Pathway Programme
The Jobs Pathway Programme (JPP) helps young people make the transition through school and from school to further education, training or employment.


Mobility Allowance
Provides assistance to people with disabilities who are in paid employment, voluntary work, vocational training, or a combination of paid work and training and who are unable to use public transport without substantial assistance.
Administered by Centrelink.


New Apprenticeships Access Programme
The New Apprenticeships Access Programme (NAAP) provides job seekers who experience barriers to skilled employment, with pre-vocational training, support and assistance to obtain and maintain a New Apprenticeship. Alternatively, a job seeker may be supported into employment, further education or training.


Pensioner Education Supplement
Additional support for people on a Disability Suuport Pension or Carer's Allowance to help you undertake full-time or part-time study.


Vocational Education and Training (VET) Priority Places Programme
aims to increase vocational education and training opportunities and improve outcomes for people with a disability, parents entering or re-entering the work force and older workers.

Wage Subsidy Scheme
Subsidises employers of people with a disability employed in the open labour market. The subsidies are administered by CRS Australia.

Youth Allowance
For full-time students aged 16 to 24 and young people aged under 21 who are undertaking job search or a combination of approved activities.
